T+A Hi-Fi DAC 200 D/A Convertor Preamplifier

The DAC 200 is designed to convert a large number of digital formats into natural-sounding analogue signals, and to pass them on via the integral headphone or analogue outputs.

The Series 200 models tackled Bach's Chromatic Fantasia and Fugue, sounding airy, light and soft when needed, but still with an undercurrent of innate strength to give force to Grøvlen's key-work – it was easy to imagine the performance taking place in front of me as sustained notes decayed into a large acoustic. Path separation technology

With dedicated converters for PCM and DSD formats, the DAC 200 avoids the interference typically caused by joint processing.

This innovative design ensures that each digital format is handled optimally, delivering the best possible sound from both types of files.

Converters & Filtres

Equipped with a double-symmetrical circuit design featuring four 32-bit Burr-Brown DACs per channel, the DAC 200 delivers exceptional linearity, dynamics, and reduced background noise.

The result is incredibly detailed and distortion-free sound reproduction.

Inputs, Outputs & Preamplifier

The DAC 200 offers a wide range of high-quality digital inputs, including USB-B, AES/EBU, SP/DIF, optical, BNC, and optional HDMI, making it versatile for any high-resolution audio source.

It can handle signals up to DSD 1024, ensuring compatibility with even the most advanced digital formats.

Galvanic Separation DASS

The Digital Analogue Separation System (DASS) ensures top-tier analogue sound by fully isolating the digital and analogue sections.

Using ultra-fast digital isolators from Silicon Labs, the DAC 200 achieves complete galvanic separation between these sections, preventing interference.

De-Jitter Masterclock Technology

The DAC 200 incorporates the advanced T+A De-Jitter Masterclock, which virtually eliminates jitter, a form of digital distortion caused by timing errors.

This results in a cleaner, more accurate conversion of digital signals, offering an immaculate listening experience.

Class A Preamplifier & Headphone Output

The DAC 200 is also a high-performance preamplifier, featuring a discreet Class A preamp section and state-of-the-art double-mono output stages.

Its balanced 4.4mm Pentaconn headphone output, powered by a fully discreet amplifier, guarantees a premium listening experience, especially for headphone enthusiasts.

Great DAC

Ok so when I first listened to this DAC given all the hype around it I was a little underwhelmed. So I let it burn in for several more hours and each time I sat down for a quick listen I started to hear different aspects of this DAC that were starting to blow me away. It was as if this unit was sneaking up on me slowly but surely and revealing it's true nature.
Finally I get it and can now describe how it sounds in my system so here goes.
This DAC's overarching sound is one of being very detailed without being in your face, very organic with the music having a wonderful flow to it. Yes it is highly musical and involving.
The bass oh wow! I have built in bass amps on my speakers that I had to turn down because there was so much deep tuneful bass. Vocals sound so realistic so very natural and the treble is detailed, slightly sweet but with absolutely no digital glare.
This is one DAC I would definitely consider if you are in the market at around this price.
Please note everything I have said relates to hearing the DAC in my room with my equipment and your mileage may vary.
