PMG M400 Monoblock Signature Power Amplifier

New

M400's design DNA, scaled for the systems most reference listeners actually live with. We audiophiles spend years searching for one particular amplifier. Not the statement piece, the reference. The one that does everything right, asks nothing in return, and never reminds you it is there. The M400 is that amplifier.

PMG M400 Monoblock Signature Power Amplifier

The PMG Signature M400 Monoblock brings reference-class amplifier engineering to real-world high-performance audio systems. Designed by Darren Myers and engineered by Bob Stadtherr, the M400 carries the core design philosophy of the flagship M800 into a more practical power envelope—delivering exceptional speed, control, transparency, and musicality without unnecessary scale.

With 200 watts into 8 ohms and 400 watts into 4 ohms, the M400 has the power and current delivery to confidently drive a wide range of demanding loudspeakers. Its 30 watts of pure Class A bias keeps the amplifier operating in its most linear region through much of normal listening, preserving subtle detail, natural textures, and effortless dynamics.

The M400 also combines an advanced active power supply with a strikingly low-feedback topology, allowing it to respond instantly to musical demands while maintaining an exceptionally quiet background. With more than 500 kHz of bandwidth and a slew rate exceeding 200 V/µs, fast transients remain precise, open, and uncolored.

Hand-built in Boulder, Colorado, the M400 is not simply designed to produce more power—it is engineered to make the amplifier itself disappear, leaving you with the music.

Reference-Class Power for Demanding Loudspeakers

The M400 delivers 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and doubles to 400 watts into 4 ohms, providing substantial power reserves for a wide range of high-performance loudspeakers. This clean power delivery gives the amplifier the authority to control demanding speakers while maintaining composure during complex musical passages.

PMG M400 30 Watts of Pure Class A Bias

With 30 watts of pure Class A operation, the M400 maintains its most linear operating mode across a significant portion of typical listening. This helps preserve delicate microdynamics, instrumental textures, and subtle musical details without crossover distortion or class-switching artifacts.

State-of-the-Art Active Power Supply

The M400 uses an advanced active power supply architecture designed to deliver current precisely when the output stage demands it. This helps maintain a low noise floor and stable performance under demanding loads, while allowing the amplifier to deliver its impressive power output without sounding strained or compressed.

Ultra-Fast, Highly Transparent Performance

With more than 500 kHz of bandwidth and a slew rate exceeding 200 V/µs, the M400 is engineered to respond exceptionally quickly to musical transients. Cymbal strikes, plucked strings, percussion, and other fast-changing signals are reproduced with precision, helping music retain its natural attack, timing, and clarity.

Low-Feedback Design for Natural Sound

Rather than relying heavily on negative feedback to correct distortion, the M400 uses Darren Myers' highly linear, strikingly low-feedback topology. The result is a cleaner and more open signal path designed to minimize unwanted coloration, allowing the amplifier to stay out of the way and let the character of your source and loudspeakers come through.
