What's On In August [2021]

I hope everyone is keeping themselves safe and sane during this crazy time. While we have been lucky in the far north of the state, we all have friends and family experiencing hard times in other parts of the country. Remember to be kind to each other.

August has been a big month in the HiFi world, with a slew of new product announcements from some of our most popular brands. We've finally got our hands on the much anticipated Marantz Model 30 Integrated amp and The SACD30n SACD player/ Network Streamer. We have been putting them through their paces with a few different speaker combinations. So far they live up to our high expectations.

English brand Roksan has announced the new Attessa line of entry level products; including an integrated amplifier, a streaming amplifier, a CD transport and a plug and play turntable. I am particularly keen to hear these, as I’m a massive fan of the retro-futuristic, 2001: A Space Odyssey aesthetic

Rotel is on a roll lately and the latest product to drop from the family owned company is the new A14 Mark II Integrated Amplifier Featuring a host of improvements taken from their flagship Michi range as well as lessons learnt through Ken Ishiwata’s work on the A11 and CD11 Tribute models.

We recently did a deep dive into the new A14 Mk II, check it out below!

It’s no secret that we are massive fans of Roksan here at LENC. So it goes without saying that we were excited to hear about their new Attessa range. Coming in at a lower price point that the K3 range, these will no doubt introduce a new audience to boutique HiFi.

Fully developed in-house in the UK, the new Attessa range features premium streaming technology, class-leading performance and beautiful industrial design. The range has been designed to combine the wonderfully complex sound of a class-leading hi-fi system with the simplicity that modern consumers are craving.

3.) My Favourite Video This Month: The Rotel A14 mkII - The Rotel Sound Reborn!

This months video is a look into the redesigned A14 Mk II by Rotel.

Fully redesigned Digital to Analog circuit topology utilises a Texas Instruments 32-bit/384kHz DAC with exhaustive tuning and hand selection of all critical components delivering a fuller, richer and more balanced presentation of the music.

Improvements to the power supply and amplifier gain stages further refine the audio whether you are listening to a big band orchestra or a solo vocalist.

In addition to their incredible sound they also pack down to half their size for convenient transport and are light as a feather due to the extensive use of carbon fibre and titanium in their construction.

As they say, a picture says a thousand words, and a movie is even better so check out the video below.
