The Music Matters Pack

With the vinyl revival in full swing, there has never been a better time to dig out those old records and get them spinning again, and with our new Music Matters Pack, it has also never been easier. Pairing the brand new Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo with the Marantz PM5005 Integrated Amplifier and Wharfedale Diamond 12.2 bookshelf speakers, this pack has a sound that's dark, warm, rich and moody. The perfect way to enjoy your records while having a cool beer and watching the sunset.

Items included in the pack:

  1. Wharfedale Diamond 12.2 Bookshelf Speakers
  2. Marantz PM5005 Integrated Amplifier
  3. Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo Turntable
  4. 2 x 3m Audioquest G2 Speaker Cables

Wharfedale Diamond 12.2 Bookshelf Speakers

Still compact but with increased cabinet volume and driver size for even more potency, the Wharfedale DIAMOND 12.2 offers a little more from a traditional standmount (or bookshelf) speaker format and embodies the history and performance values of the Wharfedale DIAMOND series.

Perfect for larger rooms and more powerful 2-channel hi-fi systems, the DIAMOND 12.2 features a high-performance 150mm (6.5”) KlarityTM driver for extended, tight bass, and a superb 25mm (1”) woven polyester dome tweeter for open and smoothly extended high frequencies.

Marantz PM5005 Integrated Amplifier

This excellent entry-level integrated amplifier breaks all the rules. That's because it's the first in its class to offer current feedback architecture - a feature that normally is reserved for the more expensive models.

This technology provides very fast and accurate signal handling, which results in perfectly balanced stereo sound reproduction as well as a very open and precise sound stage. It's also been recently enhanced with performance-optimising discrete audio circuitry and fine-tuned components. In addition, this model looks a little more stylish than the previous version, thanks to the revised knob design. On top of that, it comes with a new remote and new low-power stand-by and auto stand-by modes.

But back to being an amp: the PM5005 offers 40W per channel into 8 ohm or 55W into 4 ohm, and includes a metal chassis and a front metal panel to ensure a very rigid and solid base.

It also has an MM Phono equaliser, as well as Source Direct functionality to ensure the shortest signal paths. Without doubt, the PM5005 has raised the performance bar in the so-called entry level area. Great sound. Amazing versatility.

Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo

From the middle of the 1990s, only a handful of years after Pro-Ject Audio Systems was founded and right at the peak of CD’s popularity, we could already see the growing number of people missing analogue music. In 1998 Heinz Lichtenegger and his UK distributor and longtime friend, Laurence Armstrong, were sitting together dreaming of a record player that would make analogue sound accessible to more people. They wanted a new model that could deliver as close to high-end sound as possible, but at a price that a new younger generation could afford. Thanks to their dear friend and ProJect’s original product manager, Jiri Kroutil, within only a few days they had a sample and the Debut was born.

Today, after more than 20 years, the Debut is one of the best-selling products in the history of hi-fi with close to 1 million units sold. As it made listening to vinyl an affordable option for music lovers, with its minimalist aesthetic and premium finish options it also made analogue fashionable again. Through the years we constantly kept improving our formula, moving with technologies and fashion trends. In the early 2010s, the Debut Carbon gave new life to the ongoing Debut revolution and now in 2020, it is time for the next generation.

The Debut Carbon is already nearly the perfect turntable, especially considering the price badge and the used materials. Now we took our time to think again. We have done a lot of research to make the Debut Carbon even better, but our main objective has not changed over the years. We still want to build an affordable high-performance turntable that not just looks incredibly luxurious and modern, but also features a great sound quality.

The Debut Carbon EVO focuses on the core aspects that make a turntable sound great. Technically correct design - expert craftsmanship - handmade in the EU. This turntable is built to last you a lifetime!

Additional features that might negatively impact the overall audio performance or longevity are left out. At that level of sonic performance, it is always better to opt for a separate phono stage. If you want Bluetooth connectivity or a USB interface - we offer a broad portfolio of components at different performance levels to suit your budget.
